MCDONALD’S NEW DRINK ITEM LOOKS LIKE A STARBUCKS PINK DRINK IN FRAPPE FORM

The U.K. keeps getting McDonald’s menu items that make the U.S. customers extremely jealous.

The latest one is a Strawberry Candyfloss Frappe, a pink McDonald’s drink with strawberry and cotton candy flavors, plus pink whipped cream and pink sugar sprinkles on top.

For the chain, it’s definitely a pivot from the usual caramel and mocha frappes. This one is colorful, sugary, and much closer to a dessert drink than a standard coffee order. Depending on your feelings about fast food frappes, this is either a smart move or a sign that Starbucks should continue to own the pink drink lane.

At least one person who tried it was fully on board. Instagram user @glowybychloe called the drink “insane” and said it was “definitely strawberry” with a kick of candyfloss.

U.S. fans, meanwhile, are already wondering if they’ll have the chance to try it themselves.

“Please come to the USA @mcdonalds we need this now yall can take my money,” one person wrote.

Another commenter was even more desperate: “PLEASE COME TO THE USA ILL DO ANYTHING WE LITERALLY ARE ADDICTED TO SUGAR HOW COULD U DO THIS TO MEEEEEEE.”

Not everyone was convinced it was worth the hype. One person said they had heard it tastes like a strawberry Nesquik milkshake and called it “nothing special.”

Still, McDonald’s fans have reason to stay hopeful. The Big Arch Burger was previously a permanent menu item across the pond before making its way to U.S. restaurants, so international menu jealousy does occasionally end in victory.

For now, the Strawberry Candyfloss Frappe is only in the U.K. But if McDonald’s is testing how far it can push its frappe menu beyond caramel and mocha, I think it’s only fair that the U.S. be included in the experiment.
