I TRIED WENDY’S NEW 'MINIONS & MONSTERS' MENU—AND THIS ITEM WON ME OVER

Wendy’s is dialing up the mischief this summer just in time for the release of Illumination’s Minions & Monsters movie coming out July 1. To celebrate, the fast food chain is releasing a brand-new Minions & Monsters-inspired menu that will be available beginning June 15. Best of all, there’s enough mayhem for both kids and adults alike, with both an Adult and Kids’ Meal available at restaurants nationwide.

The new menu includes a Banana Frosty Swirl featuring sweet banana cream sauce swirled into Wendy’s Vanilla Frosty base, which automatically comes in the Adult Meal. Additionally, two new Coca-Cola Freestyle beverages will be available to order—Pineapple Minion MichieFizz and Goomi’s Glimey Lime—both inspired by the film’s characters and will be available on menus when the meals launch.

What’s Included In The Minions & Monsters Adult Meal

The Wendy’s Minions & Monsters Adult Meal comes with your choice of either a Big Bacon Classic or Spicy Chicken Sandwich, along with a small Hot & Crispy Fries, Small Banana Frosty Swirl, and one of four Wendy’s exclusive Minions & Monsters blind-box collectibles.

What’s Included In The Minions & Monsters Kids’ Meal

The Wendy’s Minions & Monsters Kids’ Meal is just as good as the adult meal, with appropriately sized options. Kids have the choice of two-piece chicken tenders, four-piece chicken tenders, hamburger, or cheeseburger, along with Jr. Hot & Crispy Fries or apple bites, a kid’s drink, and one of six exclusive Wendy’s Minions & Monsters Kids’ Meal toys—James, Henry, Ed, Richard, Goomi, or Dort.

While I wasn’t able to get my hands on the exciting new Coca-Cola drinks just yet (they are being kept under lock and key until the 15th), I was able to try the new Banana Frosty Swirl in both chocolate and vanilla. Now I know it’s controversial, but I love banana-flavored items, candy included, so I was really looking forward to trying the new Frosty. First, I tried the Frosty with the chocolate base, and it was, as always, delicious. The banana flavor was super subtle but still noticeable, and chocolate and fruit always go well together.

However, I thought the Frosty with the vanilla base was really where the banana flavor stood out. While still pleasantly subtle, it was much more prominent when paired with vanilla, making it more of the star of the show rather than a side character. It didn’t taste cloying or artificial. As someone who can be quite particular when it comes to drinks and treats, especially super sweet ones, this one really hit the mark for me.

I might not speak minion, but I certainly think this meal would get a ti amo from Carl, Bob, and all their friends.
