I’m not a basketball person, but I am a New Yorker, which meant that once the Knicks won last night, I was inevitably going to get swept up in the citywide hysteria. I still couldn’t give you the full roster, and I may have only recently gotten comfortable yelling “Brunson” with conviction, but that’s very much beside the point.
A New York win like this turns everybody into a participant, and once that happens, the brand new merch is never far behind. Snapple is getting in on the celebration with a limited-edition Knicks championship bottle, because no New York sports moment is complete without something people suddenly feel compelled to track down and keep on a shelf forever.
According to the brand, only 100 bottles of this special Peach Tea are being released, but don’t expect to find them sitting on regular store shelves. Instead, they’ll be scattered across a small number of still-secret spots around the city. Snapple says the locations will be teased out through clues, with the Instagram account @meals_by_cug dropping hints on social for anyone ready to turn this into a full-on scavenger hunt.
That setup seems to be working, because the comments are already full of people preparing to track one down. “Need not a want,” one person wrote. Another said, “I need this real bad,” while someone else made it clear they’re ready to put in the work: “I’m going to be searching the bodegas and gas stations for this one!”
The rest of the comments leaned fully into the orange-and-blue victory mood. “Time to pop bottles!!!” one person wrote, which lands even better when the bottle in question is Snapple. Another added, “Knicks in 5! Snapple 4 lyfe! 💙🧡,” and someone else called for New York to keep the glass bottles permanently for the win.
Everyone already knew the city was going to ride this win hard—it’s New York after all. Add this limited Snapple bottle hunt to the mix, and now there’s just another reason to keep the celebratory energy going.
