THE ULTIMATE HERSHEY’S S’MORES SHOWDOWN

As’more is a deceivingly simple treat. While there are only three ingredients (Hershey’s chocolate, marshmallows, and graham crackers), the difference between a “pretty good” one vs. one you’ll want to write home about is all in the technique. Perfect that, and only then can you play with the formula.

Just ask the two editors who competed in the Hershey’s Ultimate S’mores Showdown, where each was tasked to create s’mores inspired by their home cities. Sarah Gregory, Deputy Editor, Editorial Operations & Special Projects for Good Housekeeping, honors her Memphis roots by adding a bold Tennessee dry rub, roasted low and slow, to the classic treat. Delish Senior Editor Makinze Gore kept things sweet with a honey-glazed pecan variation that pays homage to Oklahoma City.

This summer, Delish is celebrating S’mores Across America with Hershey’s. The iconic treat brings people together, sparks stories under the stars, and turns ordinary summer nights into shared memories—all while fueling one of the most hotly debated questions ever asked around a fire: gooey or toasty marshmallows?
