CRANBERRY-APEROL SPRITZ WILL BE THE DRINK OF THE HOLIDAY SEASON

I love a good spritz cocktail in the summer, but this seasonal version has become a Delish staff favorite in the fall. The Aperol spritz has already achieved happy hour icon status, so I decided to give it some fall flair to make it worthy of the holiday season. Enter: The cranberry-Aperol spritz. In this recipe, cranberry adds a festive, colorful twist to everyone's favorite summer cocktail. Still bubbly and refreshing, it will make you feel like you're sipping the drink in the Mediterranean during the wintertime. Batch it for your holiday dinners this fall and winter, and convince all your friends that toasting with an Aperol spritz is a year-round love affair. Here's everything you need to know:

How To Make A Cranberry-Aperol Spritz

INGREDIENTS

  • Aperol: The orange and cranberry juice help tone it down, but if Aperol can be slightly too bitter for you, decrease the amount of Aperol and add a bit more Prosecco or fruit juices.
  • Cranberry Juice: If you don't want it to be too sweet, you can swap the cranberry juice cocktail for 100% cranberry juice.
  • Orange Juice: Use fresh orange juice here—it will give you the best flavor. Plus, then you can use the leftover orange half sliced as rounds as a garnish.
  • Prosecco: Use your favorite bottle, or check out our list of the best Prosecco brands.
  • Garnish: What really sells the holiday vibe in this cocktail is the garnish. I prefer to use orange slices, fresh cranberries, and rosemary sprigs, but feel free to get creative!

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS

I like to make these drinks in a pitcher so that they’re easy to portion out. In a pitcher, combine the Aperol, cranberry juice, and fresh orange juice. Give it a mix to combine, then add the Prosecco, and again stir to combine.

Once your mixture is ready, add it to prepared glasses filled with ice. Give it a taste, and add more Prosecco if you need more bubbles. Then, garnish with fresh cranberries, orange slices, and rosemary sprigs.

The full list of ingredients and instructions can be found in the recipe below.

Make It Ahead

If you want to prepare this ahead of time, combine everything in the pitcher minus the Prosecco and store it in the fridge. Then add the Prosecco when you’re ready to serve.
